Resumo: Over the years the quality of water resources has suffered negative impacts from anthropogenic activities. In Rio Grande do Norte, important productive activities are part of the local scene and affect the environment as shrimp farming and the dumping of industrial and domestic effluents around the Rio Potengi in Natal / RN. Ecotoxicological assays using Mysidopsis sp. they are an important alternative in the evaluation of toxic status of water. This research aimed to evaluate the toxicity of three sampling stations in the estuarine complex Potengi/Jundiai/RN (P1, P2 and P3) through ecotoxicological tests with Mysidopsis juniae. They were made four surface water sampling campaigns 2014-2015 in every season. Samples showed variations in their toxicity, P1 station - located near the Iate Clube de Natal showed no toxicity in the campaigns, P2 showed toxicity in campaigns I and II P3 station, - next the immunizing Riograndense - showed toxicity in campaigns III and IV. In view of this it is concluded that the Rio Potengi features variable toxicity along its length and locations that showed toxicity are impacted by effluent.

No Rio Grande do Norte, importantes atividades produtivas fazem parte do cenário local e afetam o ambiente como a carcinicultura e o despejo de efluentes industriais e domésticos em torno do Rio Potengi, em Natal/ RN. Os ensaios ecotoxicológicos utilizando Mysidopsis sp. são uma alternativa importante na avaliação do estado tóxico da água. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo avaliar a toxicidade de três estações de amostragem no complexo estuarino Potengi/Jundiaí/RN (P1, P2 e P3) através de testes ecotoxicológicos com Mysidopsis juniae. Foram feitas quatro campanhas de coletas de águas superficiais de 2014 a 2015 em cada estação. As amostras apresentaram variação em sua toxicidade, a estação P1 – localizada próximo ao Iate Clube de Natal não apresentou toxicidade nas campanhas realizadas, a P2 apresentou toxicidade nas campanhas I e II e a estação P3, – próxima a Imunizadora Riograndense – apresentou toxicidade nas campanhas III e IV.
