The city of Natal despite having many urban parks made for population’s entertainment and preservation and, although featuring a large nature reserve not altered by urbanization, no significant proposals for preservation of these areas. Unde this scenario, this article make a contibuition to our city through the creation of an urban park covering these two objectives: recreation and conservation. The place chooses was the Pitimbu which neighborhood, despite the presence of large open areas, remnants of the dune cords, lacks public spaces directed to the entertainment of the population and preservation of vegetation. For this reason, this was the place chosen for the implementation of a new urban park. Therefore, we made studies of references and terrain analysis and its surroundings, which resulted in the creation of a project-level guidelines. A proposal which want to enhance, preserve and restore native vegetation as well as maintaining the relationship between the residents and the place through the upkeep and improvement of activities in this field.
