Resumo: Recently, many natural gas reserves with promising energy potencial were found mainly in marine environments. However in these environments is a typical problem production and transportation of natural gas is the occurrence of gas hydrates, which can result in risks for these operations. To avoid the deposition of gas hydrate in both pipelines and deep water wells, the temperature and pressure range of hydrate formation should be predicted to take precautionary measures to ensure safe operation. The currently work had as objective to analyze and to compare mathematic models of prediction of gas hydrate formation. For the comparative, two models of gas hydrate formation were analyzed using different mathematical methods to calculate the formation temperature and the amount of inhibitor required to avoid hydrate deposition. The first model showed a more effective accuracy when applied in high pressure conditions, due to the second model using a mathematical correlation witch low precision in these parameters. This study made it possible to show the importance of the advances of mathematical models to predict the formation of gas hydrate and consequently to take increasingly efficient measures for prevention.

This study made it possible to show the importance of the advances of mathematical models to predict the formation of gas hydrate and consequently to take increasingly efficient measures for prevention.
