The present thesis has as motivation to study the production chain of the caçari (Myrciaria dubia (Kunth) McVaugh) in the State of Roraima, Brazil, taking as reference its production chain in Peru. The highlight of the caçari is the high content of ascorbic acid, which gives it a comparative advantage over other cultures. As a result of this, the following research question is asked: How can the structure of the caçari production chain in Peru refer to the development of the caçari roraimense production chain in Brazil? The Peruvian experience can be conceived as a further stage of the caçari chain in Roraima, owing to its accumulated experience of production and marketing, and based on regional, demographic similarities, etc., which can serve as a model to be followed and, on the contrary, due to its fragilities that can serve as an alert. The fruit growing in Roraima has one of its most promising representatives, due to its great economic potential, capable of placing it at the same level of importance of other traditional fruits of the state. This study is characterized by a predominantly qualitative approach. However, due to the multidisciplinary dimension of this research proposal, considering the methodological limitations for the treatment of complex subjects, a combination of qualitative (interviews and observations) and quantitative (indicators) Analysis of networks allow the study of the production chain of the caçari in Roraima. In the hierarchy of the appropriation of the results, referring to the production chain of the caçari in the Peruvian Amazon, it is verified that the scarce densification of the relations between the different agents has implied in the configuration of a disordered and fragilized chain, resulting in losses of competitiveness of the productive segments and industrial processing. As far as social capital is concerned, we verified elements that evidence the existence of stock of social capital with little expressiveness along the chain. Therefore, the incentive for the formation of social capital, through the strengthening of the trust represented by actions of cooperation between the actors and the financial agents that compose it, can potentiate its development. In the diagnosis carried out in the caçari production chain in Roraima, an embryonic scenario can be verified. The stock of social capital shows little expressiveness, which does not meet the social or productive demands, since there is no linkage of the productive segment, processing and marketing among themselves and with the organizational actors and by the small representation of actors identified in the research of field. With regard to the centrality aspects, it is evident that there is a need for a better definition and division of the roles occupied and the competences of the actors. Therefore, its structure evidences the relevance of a strategy of social and economic development with the objective of knowing the chain in the state by the strengthening and social organization of its productive and organizational actors. However, propositions of policy actions have been established in order to contribute to the debate on the development of caçari production in the state.
