Resumo: This work focuses on a study of the concept of probability applied in primary and secondary education, based on a research carried out from the analysis of PCNs and other texts that guide the teaching of mathematics at the national level, in order to investigate the motives Of the deficiency in the teaching of Probability in Basic Education. The objective is to point out ways that favor their teaching and to encourage teachers to value and recognize the importance of this theme for many areas of knowledge and everyday life. Is seen here a research with high school students about the presence of important Mathematics areas, showing that Probability, compared to other subjects, is not studied satisfactorily in most of the schools of origin of these students. It is important to highlight the importance of updating the teacher and the school, and the need to use methodologies that favor learning in this area, as well as suggestions for problems and games throughout the text.

O objetivo ? apontar caminhos que favore?am seu ensino e incentivar professores a valorizar e reconhecer a import?ncia deste tema para muitas ?reas do conhecimento e para o cotidiano. Apresenta-se aqui uma pesquisa com alunos do ensino m?dio sobre a presen?a de temas importantes da Matem?tica, mostrando que a Probabilidade, em compara??o com outros temas, n?o ? estudada de forma satisfat?ria em grande parte das escolas de origem destes alunos.
