Uso de medicamentos durante a gestação em pacientes atendidas em serviços de pré-natal público e privado em Aracaju-SE

The objective of this study is to know and classify the medications used by pregnant women in public and private prenatal care in Aracaju / SE. Interviews, classification of medications and statistical analysis were used in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software (IBM SPSS 25.0). In the public service (n = 213), 15.49% of the pregnant women declared self medication; 52.58% used only one class; 42.25% made use of class B. In the private service (n = 129), 19.38% of the pregnant women declared self-medication; 44.19% used three classes; 36.43% made use of class C. In the public service, statistical significance was observed between self-medication / gestational age in the interview, self-medication / number of prenatal consultations, self-medication / number of drugs used / professional performing. And in the private service, between self-medication / occupation, number of drugs used / gestational age during the interview. It was understood that self-medication was not prevalent; the highest drug use occurred in the first trimester of pregnancy; there was relief of symptoms predominantly. The pregnant women in the private service demonstrated more self-medication than the public
