In the last year, there has been a considerable increase in cases of microcephaly due to the Zika epidemic in Brazil, generating a sudden increase in the demand for early stimulation services. The infant diagnosed with microcephaly should be stimulated as early as possible in order to minimize the delay in neurosensory motor development and motor and sensory impairments. The aim of this study was to develop a program of early stimulation with guidelines for parents of infants with microcephaly in order to make the material available in early intervention programs and primary care services. The study was divided in three stages: search of theoretical references, selection of pertinent information for the program and elaboration of the program in the form of a booklet. The booklet was elaborated focusing on the following activities: stimulating functional activities, favoring the motivation, repetition and transferring of that activity to other daily situations of the child that potentiate his/her development. From the use of the booklet, it is expected that parents may acquire knowledge regarding the clinical condition of their baby, as well as decrease the rate of delay in the child's neuropsychomotor development, and potentiate his/her development. In the next stage of this work, the booklet will be applied to the target audience and its quality and effectiveness will be analyzed.
