Currently there is a real concern in the industrial sector for the disposal of solid waste produced by them, caused due to environmental impacts and for promulgating laws that apportion responsibilities, by applying fines. For this reason, there is the social responsibility coupled with environmental practices directed in the recycling process, which besides resulting in an effective sustainability, reduce costs and generate profits. The aim of this article is to demonstrate the process of recycling of solid waste produced in the context of a brewery located in Alagoinhas/BA, as well as the environmental and economic aspects involved in the use of such waste. The commitment of the brewery to environmental sustainability, demonstrate the social commitment involved in the whole process of recycling. An on-site survey was conducted, exploratory, where inductive interview and direct observation techniques were employed. It concludes that there is in the whole process of recycling a concern with the environmental, economic, and with compliance with current legislation, making the process truly effective.
