Resumo: Introduction: Food insecurity (AI) is determined by several factors that are associated at household level and from the concern and / or uncertainty about access to food to hunger, in order to analyze the determinants that contribute to the diagnosis of AI Can be useful in tackling the problem, aiming at efficient public policies aimed at guaranteeing the Human Right to Adequate Food and Food and Nutrition Security (SAN). Objective: To analyze the studies for the determination of AI in Brazil. Methodology: A review of national databases (Bireme, Lilacs and ScieLO) analyzed the determinants that are being evaluated in household / individual IA surveys in Brazil between the years 2004 and 2015. Results: (96.5% / 82.7%), health conditions and eating habits were evaluated in 20.6% of the studies and no study (0.0% ) Evaluated food and nutritional education and the social network as determinants of AI. Conclusion: The studies do not cover all the determinants of their research, which may not reveal the real situation of the Brazilian population considering the broad and comprehensive meaning of the SAN.

Conclusion: The studies do not cover all the determinants of their research, which may not reveal the real situation of the Brazilian population considering the broad and comprehensive meaning of the SAN.Introdução: A Insegurança Alimentar (IA) é determinanda por diversos fatores que no nível domiciliar geralmente se associam e ocasionam desde a preocupação e/ou incerteza quanto o acesso ao alimento até a fome, desta forma, analisar os determinantes que contribuem para diagnóstico da IA pode ser útil no enfrentamento deste problema, visando políticas públicas eficientes com vista a garantir o Direito Humano a Alimentação Adequada e a Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional (SAN). Objetivo: Analisar os estudos para determinação da IA no Brasil. Metodologia: Através de revisão bibliográfica em bases de dados nacionais (Bireme, Lilacs e ScieLO) analisou-se quais os determinantes estão sendo avaliados nas pesquisas sobre IA a nível domiciliar/individual no Brasil entre os anos de 2004 a 2015. Resultados: Analisou-se 29 estudos, os determinantes socioeconômicos e demográficos foram os mais avaliados (96,5% / 82,7%), as condiçõs de saúde e o hábito alimentar foram avaliados em 20,6% dos estudos e nenhum estudo (0,0%) avaliou a educação alimentar e nutricional e a rede social como determinantes da IA.
