The purpose of this study is to analyze whether the professional executive secretary is developing new activities resulting from the recent changes in the market and to investigate the activities that executive secretaries are performing in companies, compare recent activities with the activities that the bibliography presents, identify the activities that diverge from the bibliography and propose a model of the new activities. The methodology of this research has a bibliographic, exploratory, descriptive nature and was characterized as qualitative. Semi-structured personal interviews were conducted with 4 professionals who work as executive secretaries in companies in the city of Aracaju / SE. The discussion of its development approaches the secretarial management as a new concept of the executive secretary profession, according to some authors addressed in the course of this research. However, the results obtained in this study revealed that the executive secretaries interviewed do not yet act according to this new profile, however, they have some characteristics related to managerial scope, such as teamwork skills mediating interpersonal relationships, motivating and circumventing conflicts , performing some activities with autonomy and obtaining knowledge on how to lead, showing that although they do not act as managers, they are prepared to perform strategic level functions
