Resumo: This article´s objective is to identify the obstacles faced by LGBT people in the exercise of parenting. We used the biographical method, from an intersectional approach, in a dialogical and recursive investigative process. Nine interviews were conducted with key informants from academia,psychotherapy, politics, and activism. We found obstacles at symbolic, institutional, and factual levels,which (re)produced and influence each other. We conclude obstacles related to the exercise of motherhood/fatherhood from LGBT people generates emotional self-limitations associated with the(im)possibility of thinking themselves as a potential mother/father based on the hostile social context they face.

Utilizamos el método biográfico, desde un abordaje interseccional, en un proceso investigativo dialógico-recursivo. Realizamos entrevistas a nueve informantes clave pertenecientes a la academia, la psicoterapia, la política y el activismo. Encontramos que existen obstáculos en los ámbitos: simbólico, institucional y fáctico, que se (re)producen y afectan recursivamente. Concluimos que los obstáculos relacionados con el ejercicio de la parentalidad desde la diversidad sexoafectiva generan autolimitaciones afectivas asociadas a la (im)posibilidad de pensarse como potencial madre/padre basadas en elcontexto social hostil que enfrentan.O objetivo deste artigo é identificar os obstáculos enfrentados pelas pessoas da diversidade afetivo-sexual em relação ao exercício da maternidade/paternidade.
