Resumo:  Resumo Para além de uma interpretação que apresenta a filosofia política de Locke como justificativa ideológica do individualismo possessivo, o artigo pretende destacar os elementos constitucionais e republicanos presentes nos Dois Tratados sobre o Governo, examinando a tensão entre direitos individuais e soberania popular no liberalismo político de Locke.
