Geologia.This project was written with the aim in generating subsidy for the creation of the Pedras Brancas Geopark, it was consisted of a systematic collection of data from bibliography and field work, when six geosites and geodiversity sites were inventoried, quantified and described, as well as the geoenvironmental zoning, resulting in four fragmented units in an area of 162 km² between the cities of Lages, Painel and Bocaina do Sul, in the Serra Catarinense. The identification of the geosites was made from remote sensoring images where, after, it was possible to carry out the inventory and quantification works using the Geossit app, where the numbers relating to touristic, educational and scientific potential were obtained, as well as the risk of degradation and its relevance, automatically calculated by the app. The researched region showed great potential for activities related to geotourism and environmental education to be promoted due to the magnificient appearence in the region’s geological units occured in the shape of waterfalls, ruiniform relief, rapids, caves, layering, etc, which related to the biosphere grant great scenic beauty to the region. The proposed geoenvironmental zoning served as base to the understanding of the researched area and had as characterising premise the integrated analisis of physical, geological, geomorphological and legal aspects. As a manner of promoting the appreciation, dissemination and conservation of the geological heritage in the region and still serve as an example of a possible activity for the geotourism to be supported, two interpretative trails were elaborated inside the Garganta do Diabo geosite of international relevance: one with technical and scientific nature and another for lay people. A graphic product was also created for each type of trail in order to elucidate and help in the identification, comprehension and location of the atributes related to geology and geological process of the geosite.O presente trabalho teve como objetivo gerar subsídios para a criação do Geoparque Pedras Brancas, com área de abrangência de 162 km², situado entre os municípios de Lages, Painel e Bocaina do Sul, no Planalto Catarinense, região Sul do Brasil. A pesquisa consistiu em um levantamento sistemático de dados obtidos da literatura consultada e de trabalhos de campo. Houve o inventário, a avaliação quantitativa e a descrição de seis geossítios e sítios da geodiversidade e o desenvolvimento de um zoneamento geoambiental que resultou na compartimentação da região de pesquisa em quatro unidades. O inventário dos geossítios foi realizado com imagens de sensoriamento remoto e os valores da avaliação quantitativa de potencial turístico, educativo, científico risco de degradação e relevância foram obtidos pelo processamento de dados no aplicativo Geossit. Os resultados indicam que a área de estudo apresenta potencial para a criação de atividades de geoturismo e de educação ambiental em razão das da configuração das expressões superficiais e subterrâneas das unidades geológicas que conferem beleza cênica a essa região, tais como cachoeiras, corredeiras, cavernas, estratificações, relevo ruiniforme, dentre outros. O zoneamento geoambiental proposto teve como premissa de caracterização a análise integrada de aspectos físicos relacionados a declividade e a hipsometria do terreno, geológicos, geomorfológicos e legais. Com a finalidade de promover a valorização, a divulgação e a conservação do patrimônio geológico da região de pesquisa , duas trilhas interpretativas foram propostas para o geossítio de relevância internacional Garganta do Diabo,: uma de caráter técnico e científico e uma outra para leigos.
