Resumo: This study aims to analyze the profile of treatment with psychotropic drugs of users of a Center for Child and Adolescent Psychosocial Care. A cross-sectional, documentary, quantitative and analytical study was carried out at a Center for Child and Adolescent Psychosocial Care in the Northwest of the Rio Grande do Sul. Information on age, sex, medication, diagnosis and time of service of 208 patient files, aged less than or equal to 18 years, both sexes and active register in the period of the research. Medications classified as Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical Classification System and drug interactions from the Micromedex® Solutions database. Data analysis with Pearson’s Chi-square, Odds Ratio (OR) and Mann-Whitney. The mean age of the patients was 12.34 ± 3.59 years, 63.9% were male, 82.2% were drug users, and 95.5% were nerve users. Antidepressants and antiepileptics were used more frequently, 31.5% and 29.6%, respectively. The female sex was almost three times more likely to use medication and previously hospitalized patients of both sexes were almost four times as likely. Among users, 71.6% are exposed to at least one potential drug interaction, 54.9% severe. There was a high consumption of psychoactive drugs and potential drug interactions among the users studied. There is evidence of the need for new studies to guide clinical practice in this population in order to ensure quality of life, psychosocial rehabilitation and reintegration into the community.

There is evidence of the need for new studies to guide clinical practice in this population in order to ensure quality of life, psychosocial rehabilitation and reintegration into the community. Universidade Federal de Santa Maria2020-04-17info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.ufsm.br/revistasaude/article/view/4165310.5902/2236583441653Saúde (Santa Maria); Revista Saúde (Santa Maria), Vol.46, n.1, jan.-abr. 2020Saúde (Santa Maria); Revista Saúde (Santa Maria), Vol.46, n.1, jan.-abr. 20202236-58340103-4499reponame:Saúde (Santa Maria)instname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMporhttps://periodicos.ufsm.br/revistasaude/article/view/41653/pdfBorges, Fernanda Daiana dos SantosPretto, Caroline HenzBandeira, Vanessa Adelina CasaliColet, Christiane Fátimainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2020-04-28T17:31:43Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/41653Revistahttps://periodicos.ufsm.br/revistasaudePUBhttps://periodicos.ufsm.br/revistasaude/oairevistasaude.ufsm@gmail.com || amanda.revsaude@gmail.com || beatriz.revsaude@gmail.com2236-58342236-5834opendoar:2020-04-28T17:31:43Saúde (Santa Maria) - Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)false
