Resumo: The book Memórias das Trajetórias e Desafios no Cinquentenários do Centro de Educação Física e Desporto/Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, organized by João Francisco Magno Ribas and Maria Cecília da Silva Camargo, published this year by UNIJUI publisher, was designed, built, written and published with the purpose of understanding the past and building a view on the trajectories of subjects in this Physical Educational Center. The timeline drawn by the book reveals a plural, diverse, solid Academic Unit, aware of its actions and, more than that, committed to the role of the first “Federal Public University established in the interior of the country”.
