Resumo: We propose the analysis of a satirical epitaph by Don Francisco de Quevedo with the aim of understanding how the poetic topos of the "Exegi monumentum aere perennius", from a Horacian origin, the typical topics of the "epitaph" genre, such as "admonition" to passers-by, and the comic, by means of "slander" (bomolochia) are articulated within it. We read Aristotle's Poetics in order to understand what was meant by comic and the two great subgenera in which it was divided since Antiquity while examining poetics from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries in which the Aristotelian doctrine on this genre has been updated. Finally, we demonstrate the articulation between poetic/comic and demonstrative rhetoric.

Universidade Federal de Santa Maria2019-08-07info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionTextoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/otherapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.ufsm.br/letras/article/view/3803010.5902/2176148538030Letras; Edição Especial - 1/2019: Estudos poéticos e retóricos: novas perspectivas; 49-582176-14851519-3985reponame:Letras (Santa Maria.
