Resumo:   The present work studied the inicial growth of Eucalyptus dunnii Maiden with Zea mays L. associated. The randomized block expericmental design was used with 3 replications and 7 treatments. The treatments used were with and without fertiliser interplanting in corn with fertiliser interplanting in corn with fertiliser and whith bosth species as a single crop with fertiliser. The statistical analysis showed increasing height and colon diameter for seven month old Eucalyptus however their differences did not persist at forteen months old; for the Eucalyptus the increasing of height did not have effect when growth in interplanting with, but the colon diameter of Eucalyptus was influenced by corn competition. He com prodution was not effected by the Eucalyptus interplanting.

He com prodution was not effected by the Eucalyptus interplanting.   No presente trabalho foi estudado o crescimento inicial de Eucalyptus dunnii Maiden sob o consórcio de Zea mays L. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos ao acaso com 3 repetições e 7 tratamentos. Os tratamentos forma definidos para o Eucalyptus com e sem adubação, consorciado com milho com adubação, e ambas espécies em monocultura adubado. A análise realizada demonstra que a adubação do Eucalyptus resulta em aumento na altura e diâmetro do coleto aos sete meses do plantio e que esta diferença não persiste aos 14 meses; o crescimento em altura do Eucalyptus não sofre interferência da concorrência do milho, mas o crescimento em diâmetro do coleto é afetado pela concorrência do milho.
