Resumo: The process of human aging is surrounded by concerns due to the increase in life expectancy and the great social impact that is behind it. Work is the main activity performed in adulthood, which is a source of sustenance and often social recognition. This study highlights the issues related to the preparation for retirement and retirement of federal public servants, and it is of the utmost importance to think and seek strategies to face this moment of transition from work life, to the life of not working and the changes that have occurred throughout of this process as the change in routine, economic change, social relations among others. Considering the legislation in force, the programs of preparation for retirement are among the rights of the workers, with the purpose of seeking guidance on retirement. Brazil still has few retirement preparation programs, most of which are owned by public educational institutions. In order to deepen the study on the subject, a qualitative research was carried out in a higher education institution that has a program of preparation for retirement with the purpose of analyzing the program, identifying the process of creation and implantation, the adhesion and involvement of the retirement preparation program. The study was based on the need to evaluate the existing program, considering the actors involved in the process as managers, the organizing team and the retired employees. Finally, we identified the predominance of women and the technical-administrative category in education both in the management, organization and retirees, in addition, it was emphasized the importance of the means of communication to broaden the interlocution between the institution and the servers.

O trabalho é a principal atividade exercida na idade adulta, a qual é fonte de sustento e muitas vezes reconhecimento social. Destaca-se neste estudo as questões relacionados a preparação para aposentadoria e aposentadoria de servidores públicos federais, sendo de suma importância pensar e buscar estratégias para enfrentar esse momento de transição da vida do trabalho, para a vida do não trabalho e as mudanças ocorridas ao longo desse processo como a mudança na rotina, alteração econômicas, relações sociais entre outros. Considerando as legislações em vigor, os programas de preparação para aposentadoria estão dentre os direitos dos trabalhadores, com o intuito de buscar orientações sobre a aposentadoria. O Brasil ainda conta com poucos programas de preparação para aposentadoria, a maioria dos existentes pertence a instituições públicas de ensino. Para aprofundar o estudo sobre a temática realizou-se uma pesquisa qualitativa em uma instituição de ensino superior que possui um programa de preparação para aposentadoria com o intuito de analisar o programa identificando o processo de criação e implantação, a adesão e envolvimento dos servidores diante do programa de preparação para aposentadoria. O estudo se deu pela necessidade de avaliação do programa existente, considerando os atores envolvidos no processo como gestores, equipe organizadora e os servidores aposentados.
