Resumo: Neossolos Regolíticos (Regosols/Entisols), even is being successfully used from an economical perspective with horticulture and reforestation, are fragile from a natural resource perspective because their small depth, presence of stones and/or rocks, near surface lithic contact, fractures in saprolite and frequent occurrence in steep slopes. Neossolos have been classified as materials of low potential use, which in part caused inadequate morphological field description by soil survey teams. Population growth and urban expansion requires over areas with Neossolos require larger volume of data and a more specific analysis for a better interpretation of these soils capacity to filtrate water, retain and transform solute and water contributing to the maintenance of the water quality that reaches the underground reservoirs. In that sense this study was an attempt to generate information on Neossolos from the edge of the Plateau of Rio Grande do Sul State. Five Neossolos profiles were studied regarding their chemical (pH, soil organic carbon, bases and aluminum saturation, cations exchange capacity); physical (aggregation, bulk density of soil and saprolite, pore space, size distribution of soil particles, water storage capacity of the saprolite, fractures in the saprolite) and morphologic (profile thickness, soil color, consistence) analyses were performed. A correlation analysis of these attributes with the water infiltration in soil resulted that there were great variations in the hidraulic behavior among the Neossolos sampled in different location as well as among the replications in the same location. The main components analysis indicated that the soil water infiltration has strong relationship with the total porosity, angles of fractures in the saprolite and with the distribution of the particle size fractions of the soil.

The main components analysis indicated that the soil water infiltration has strong relationship with the total porosity, angles of fractures in the saprolite and with the distribution of the particle size fractions of the soil.Os Neossolos Regolíticos, mesmo sendo utilizados com sucesso do ponto de vista econômico, principalmente com fruticultura e reflorestamento, apresentam baixo potencial de uso devido à sua pequena profundidade efetiva, presença de pedregosidade e/ou rochosidade, contato lítico a pequena profundidade e ocorrência freqüente em terrenos declivosos. Visto que os Neossolos têm sido classificados como materiais de baixo potencial de uso geral, ao mesmo tempo em que têm sido descritos inadequadamente no campo, um maior volume de dados e uma análise mais particular se fazem necessários para a melhor interpretação desses solos, uma vez que a filtragem da água de percolação, retenção de solutos e fluídos e sua possível transformação, são de especial interesse na manutenção da qualidade da água que atinge os reservatórios subterrâneos. Nesse sentido este estudo procurou gerar informações sobre conjuntos regolíticos que ocorrem na região do Rebordo do Planalto do Rio Grande do Sul como forma de colaborar com o desenvolvimento de ferramentas técnico - científicas que permitam um melhor entendimento das propriedades ambientais destes solos e o seu uso racional. Para tal foram determinadas algumas características químicas (pH, carbono orgânico no solo, saturação por bases e alumínio, capacidade de troca de cátions, determinação do complexo sortivo); físicas (agregação, densidade do solo e do saprólito, porosidade, distribuição granulométrica, armazenamento de água no saprólito, fraturamento do saprólito) e; morfológicas (espessura dos perfis, cor, consistência) em cinco Neossolos da região central do RS. Para cada Neossolo foram descritos e analisados três perfis. Através da análise dos perfis pôde-se perceber que há grandes variações no comportamento hídrico dos diferentes Neossolos e também, mesmo a curtas distâncias, entre os perfis dentro do mesmo solo. A análise dos componentes principais indicou que a infiltração de água no solo tem estreita relação com a porosidade total do solo, com os ângulos de fraturamento do saprólito e com a distribuição das frações grosseira e fina do solo.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de Ciências RuraisPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Ciência do SoloUFSMBrasilAgronomiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessPedologiaClassificação de solosSaprólitoCaracterísticas físicasCaracterísticas físicasPedologySoil classificationSaprolitePhysic characteristicsCNPQ::CIENCIAS AGRARIAS::AGRONOMIA::CIENCIA DO SOLOInfiltração de água em neossolos regolíticos do rebordo do planalto do Rio Grande do SulWater infiltration in neossolos regolíticos (regossols) in the plateau edge of Rio Grande do Sul stateinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisDalmolin, Ricardo Simão Dinizhttp://lattes.cnpq.br/3735884911693854Azevedo, Antônio Carlos dePedron, Fabrício de Araújohttp://lattes.cnpq.br/9501699878700241Stürmer, Sidinei Leandro Klöckner5001001000056006006006006000845916a-ab9b-4bc9-a3d6-f1d2b58563e36d9e8450-26f1-43a8-93e6-d772107a910ab73d1bdd-9eae-42fa-8754-332e1ce5c86002a5608a-d718-4813-964f-0eaecd4c1b03reponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGCS_2008_STÜRMER_SIDINEI.pdfDIS_PPGCS_2008_STÜRMER_SIDINEI.pdfDissertação de mestradoapplication/pdf3988065http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/29325/1/DIS_PPGCS_2008_ST%c3%9cRMER_SIDINEI.pdf16aad91a06b8fc34de0720aa43ad03abMD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
