Resumo: | Growing concern for sustainability has resulted in a search for alternative materials for the cement industry to reduce its environmental impacts and achieve greater durability of structures at lower costs. By partially replacing the cement with some mineral addition, changes in the microstructure and in the reactions of hydration of the materials occur, being essential, then, to evaluate its performance. Based on this premise, the present work proposes to analyze the effects of the incorporation of low graphite carbon rice husk ash (RHA) from Alegrete/RS Electric Power Generation Industry on the properties of cement pastes, comparing its performance with silica fume (SF) of national supplier through the calorimetry test, X-ray diffractogram (XRD), mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP), chemically combined water, electrical conductivity and hydrogen potential (pH). For this, pastes with different RHA contents (5, 10, 20 and 30%) and SF (5, and 10%) were molded (in cylindrical samples of Ø4x8cm), as well as a reference sample containing 100% Portland Cement of Initial High Strength (CP V-ARI). Three ratios of w/b (0.35, 0.50 and 0.65) and different cure periods were adopted. From the results obtained, it was observed that the increase in the cement substitution content by RHA and SF resulted in lower initial and final setting times and decrease in the electrical conductivity and pH values of the aqueous solution of the pores. The chemically combined water content increased with higher w/b ratios and higher pozzolan contents. By the results of MIP, when compared to the reference mixture, pastes containing RHA and SF showed increase of the total pore area, but decrease of the critical diameters and the amount of macropores, evidencing the pore refinement promoted by the pozzolanic reaction of additions with CH. Heat release curves obtained by conduction calorimetry test showed that RHA and SF modified the rate of hydration of the cement, increasing the induction and acceleration period, and releasing greater total heat than the reference paste. |

Ao se substituir parcialmente o cimento por alguma adição mineral, alterações na microestrutura e nas reações de hidratação dos materiais ocorrem, sendo imprescindível, então, avaliar seu desempenho. Baseado nesta premissa, o presente trabalho propõe analisar os efeitos da incorporação de cinzas de casca de arroz de baixo teor de carbono grafítico (CCA), procedente da indústria Geradora de Energia Elétrica Alegrete/RS nas propriedades das pastas de cimento, comparando seu desempenho com a de sílica ativa (SA) de fornecedor nacional, através dos ensaios de calorimetria, análise termogravimétrica (TG), tempo de início e fim de pega, difração de raios-X (DRX), porosidade por intrusão de mercúrio (PIM), água quimicamente combinada, condutividade elétrica e potencial de hidrogênio (pH). Para tal, foram moldadas (em corpos-de-prova cilíndricos de Ø4x8cm) pastas com diferentes teores de CCA (5, 10, 20 e 30%) e SA (5, e 10%), bem como uma amostra de referência contendo 100% de Cimento Portland de Alta Resistência Inicial (CP VARI). Foram adotadas três relações de a/ag (0,35; 0,50 e 0,65) e diferentes períodos de cura. Dos resultados obtidos, constata-se que o aumento no teor de substituição de cimento por CCA e SA resultou em menores tempos de início e fim de pega das pastas e diminuição na condutividade elétrica e nos valores de pH da solução aquosa dos poros. O teor de água quimicamente combinada aumentou com maiores relações a/ag e maiores teores de pozolanas. Pelos resultados de PIM, quando comparado à mistura de referência, pastas contendo CCA e SA apresentaram aumento da área total de poros, porém diminuição dos diâmetros críticos e da quantidade de macroporos, evidenciando o refinamento dos poros promovido pela reação pozolânica das adições com o CH. As curvas de liberação de calor obtidas por ensaio de calorimetria de condução mostraram que a CCA e a SA modificaram a velocidade de hidratação do cimento, aumentando o período de indução e o de aceleração, e liberando maior calor total do que a pasta de referência.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESporUniversidade Federal de Santa MariaCentro de TecnologiaPrograma de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia CivilUFSMBrasilEngenharia CivilAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 Internationalhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessCinza de casca de arrozSílica ativaCimento PortlandHidrataçãoMicroestruturaRice husk ashSilica fumePortland cementHydrationMicrostructureCNPQ::ENGENHARIAS::ENGENHARIA CIVILEstudo da hidratação e microestrutura de pastas de cimento Portland com adição de cinza de casca de arroz de baixo teor de carbono grafítico e sílica ativaStudy of hydration and microstructure of Portland cement pastes with addition of low graphite carbon rice husk ash and silica fumeinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisGastaldini, Antonio Luiz Guerrahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/9293085240832049Guimarães, André Tavares da Cunhahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/8091918519299243Isaia, Geraldo Cechellahttp://lattes.cnpq.br/8260652949733370http://lattes.cnpq.br/4299624774874461Gomes, Taís3001000000036006a6bd4d6-e9f2-46f6-9245-5aefb19c7a2866567229-8937-4be1-ac34-46b190497831ee7aa20a-b44e-41b0-958f-c3ab2ed5a1bad307d13b-380a-4ce9-94b4-41e2994f4251reponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações do UFSMinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM)instacron:UFSMORIGINALDIS_PPGEC_2017_GOMES_TAIS.pdfDIS_PPGEC_2017_GOMES_TAIS.pdfDissertação de Mestradoapplication/pdf3486810http://repositorio.ufsm.br/bitstream/1/14717/1/DIS_PPGEC_2017_GOMES_TAIS.pdfda0f077760364f227400f2bf5f2e2a0cMD51CC-LICENSElicense_rdflicense_rdfapplication/rdf+xml;
