Abstract In the federative tradition of Brazil, it has been the responsibility of the different education systems, over the decades, to elaborate and implement official curricular guidelines in their school networks. With the intention of guiding them, the National Curricular Common Base (BNCC) was developed. The work will address the curricular component History at the BNCC for high school, seeking to analyze the proposition of organization and direction of this curricular component to constitute the school knowledge that will be taught and will be learned in schools. In order to do so, we opted for the use of documental and bibliographic analysis methodology. At this level of education, the implementation of the BNCC is part of the changes proposed by the Reform of the new High School.
