Mapping of material resources of community mental health services to offer psychosocial assistance

The objective was to understand the perception of professionals about the material resources of community mental health services to enable psychosocial assistance. This is a descriptive and exploratory research with a qualitative approach carried out with 17 professionals from two Psychosocial Care Centers in the central region of Brazil in 2021. A description of sociodemographic and professional characterization, a semi-structured script for an individual online interview and field diary for data collection. The analytical process followed the recommendation of thematic content analysis with the help of the ATLAS.ti software for the organization of the corpus. Among the results obtained, the thematic category Material resources for the provision of psychosocial care, revealing that videos, recreational activities such as games and painting, educational materials for health education, quick tests, reading texts, posters for psychoeducation and the use of creativity by professionals for the construction of new materials are the resources used in daily services. Despite the scarcity of material resources in services, professionals use existing tools in clinics and take the initiative to develop new alternatives to expand the repertoire of therapeutic therapies in the setting of psychosocial care.
