Resumo: | This work aims to investigate the trans people formation processes of social names, observing their relationship with the first names of these subjects. As secondary objectives, we intend to investigate whether orthographic stylization of renames occurs and whether the adopted names are usual in Brazilian Portuguese. The study has a qualitative and quantitative approach and it was carried out based on a corpus made up of 50 social names of transgenders who answered a questionnaire on the Google.doc platform. We found that, for the most part, transgender people prefer a social name without a morphological identity with the first name. Among the names with morphological identity, we observed that the most used name formation processes are: derivation, flexion and brachysemy. We also found that 82% of social names are customary in Brazilian Portuguese and, of these, 64% are dictionaryzed, 8% are dictionaryzed variants and 40% have stylized spelling by consonant duplication, insertion or exchange of graphemes. Regarding the identity aspects and the renaming, we found that transgender people mark in their social name a distance between the first and their new gender identity. |
