Academic abstract: analysis of an experience of teaching writing in the academic sphere

Resumo: This study seeks to present a teaching-learning experience of academic writing with Pedagogy students from a public university. The experience dealt specifically with the production of academic summaries and integrated a PhD research about the academic literacy theme. The theoretical assumptions that justified this work come from the Street (2014), Lea and Street (1998; 2014) and Lillis (1999) studies. The aforementioned experience was a pedagogical routing, whose results revealed that: a) even though the undergraduate students do not know the characteristics of some academic genres, it is possible to insert them in an effective way in the literate practices that circle the academic sphere; b) when the work contemplates the text as a teaching and learning instrument, in a social interaction situation, such action becomes significant and the students comprehend the social function of the analyzed/produced genre.

A experiência tratou especificamente da produção de resumos acadêmicos e integrou uma pesquisa de doutoramento sobre o tema do letramento acadêmico. Os pressupostos teóricos que fundamentaram este trabalho provêm dos estudos de Street (2014), Lea e Street (1998; 2014) e Lillis (1999).
