Student assistance at UFVJM: an increasingly necessary public policy

Resumo: This paper analyzes a specific case of the Student Assistance Policy, which is that of the “Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri (UFVJM)”. For this, we used data from the V Survey of the Socioeconomic Profile of Undergraduate Students at Federal Universities, developed in 2018 by the National Forum of Pro-Rectors for Community and Student Affairs (FONAPRACE). The aim of this paper is to analyze the main UFVJM data presented in the survey, using a qualitative approach. It is concluded that the UFVJM indicators showed the importance of expanding permanence actions, since the attendance by the Student Assistance Program does not correspond to the existing demand, indicating the need for investment and implementation of the Program's actions.

Para ello, se utilizaron datos de la V Encuesta del Perfil Socioeconómico de los Estudiantes de Grado de las Universidades Federales, desarrollada en 2018, por el Foro Nacional de Prorrectores de Asuntos Estudiantiles (FONAPRACE). Por tanto, el objetivo de este trabajo es analizar los principales datos de la UFVJM presentados en la encuesta, utilizando un enfoque cualitativo. Se concluye que los indicadores de la UFVJM muestran la importancia de ampliar las acciones de permanencia, ya que la atención del Programa de Asistencia Estudiantil no corresponde a la demanda existente, lo que indica la necesidad de invertir e implementar las acciones del Programa.Este artigo analisa um caso específico de Política de Assistência Estudantil, que é o da Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri (UFVJM). Para isso, foram utilizados os dados da V Pesquisa do Perfil Socioeconômico dos Estudantes de Graduação das Universidades Federais, desenvolvida no ano de 2018, pelo Fórum Nacional de Pró-Reitores de Assuntos Estudantis (FONAPRACE). Dessa maneira, o objetivo deste trabalho é analisar os principais dados da UFVJM apresentados na pesquisa, utilizando abordagem qualitativa. Conclui-se que os indicadores da UFVJM mostraram a importância da ampliação de ações de permanência, uma vez que o atendimento pelo Programa de Assistência Estudantil não corresponde à demanda existente, indicando a necessidade de investimento e implementação das ações do Programa.
