Resumo: The study aims to know the evolution of the malaria incidence in the municipalities of the state of Amazonas, during the period from 2003 to 2019, as well as to analyze the existence of seasonality of the disease. Using Pettitt's statistical test, changes in the pattern of malaria distribution were found, especially after 2011. On average, high values of malaria incidence were observed until 2010/2011, reaching, in some municipalities, a monthly incidence of 40. After that year, there was a trend towards a reduction in malaria in most municipalities. In addition, the high risk of the disease that predominated in almost the entire state of Amazonas in the first years of the historical series, after 2010/2011, it was concentrated in the North and Southwest regions of the state. The seasonality of the disease was more intensely identified in the Southwest region, with higher values between the months of May and August. The research results helped to understand the dynamics of malaria in the Amazon, showing that there is still a large amount of the disease. The study provides relevant subsidies to help health surveillance, with recognition of areas susceptible to the presence of the vector.
