Glycerol steam reforming for hydrogen production in Pd/Al2O3 and Pd/CeO2/Al2O3 catalysts

Resumo: | Pd/Al2O3 and Pd/CeO2/Al2O3 catalysts were prepared and tested in glycerol steam reforming. The catalytic tests were carried out in a fixed bed reactor for continuous flow using glycerol solution 10 vol.% in water diluted in helium. The composition of the mixture and the reaction selectivity in H2 was evaluated in these catalysts according to temperature and reaction time on stream, and the Pd/CeO2/Al2O3 catalyst showed the highest H2 selectivity and stability throughout the operating range study presented this work. |

Testes catalíticos foram realizados em um reator de leito fixo operando continuamente através da injeção de uma carga contendo uma solução de glicerol (10% vol) em água diluída em hélio. A composição da mistura e a seletividade em H2 foram avaliadas nesses catalisadores de acordo com a temperature e tempo de reação, sendo que o catalisador Pd/CeO2/Al2O3 apresentou a maior seletividade em hidrogênio e estabilidade durante a faixa de operação presente neste trabalho.
