Resumo: The walking act is one of the main forms of interaction with the public space, and with the more recent idea of humanizing cities, the concept of walkability began to be widely researched, in an attempt to minimize the harmful effects of excess vehicles in the cities. In this sense, this work`s objective is to diagnose the walkability of the urban core of Santana do Araguaia, in the State of Pará, as well as to perceive how the city population sees the space, whether propitious or not for urban life to happen. For this, an online questionnaire was applied to 406 respondents, where the responses indicated that failures in public infrastructure are potential losses for accessibility, and consequently affect other conditions such as public and road safety, as well as interactions between the community.
