Os cursinhos populares: um estudo comparado entre MSU e EDUCAFRO - MG

Resumo: This dissertation deals with the pre-university preparatory popular courses in Brazil. More specifically about these two groups articulating experiences: the Movement of those without university - MSU and the Education and Citizenship for black and poor - Educafro. Along the trajectory of social movements in Brazil from the 1990s, these soften its argumentative character becoming more purposeful, following the so-called "globalization." The aim of this study was to understand and compare the MSU and the Educafro, investigating the differences in political philosophy and strategy of both to democratize access to higher education. The research line starts from the history of social movements in Brazil, popular education in this context, followed by the appearance and a brief history of popular pre-university in the country, focusing on the study the MSU and the Educafro, from a comparative analysis. The methodology used to understand these cores was a literature review, semi-structured interviews with members of the MSU-MG and Educafro-MG, and finally a focus group with the presence of both. We detected that the main similarities between the experiences are situated within its own tactics and operating performance. The tensions lie in political action and understanding of public education. The joints happen in direct action, in other words, in the concrete struggles, in the unifying guidelines as: Quotas, ProUni, exemption of registration fee for vestibular. Showing the union face to the campaign against political opponents‟ forces. The prospect of public education is not the same. The understanding of affirmative action also generates differences, the MSU understands as palliative, while Educafro sees them as reparation to black people, aiming at structural transformation.

Mais especificamente acerca de dois grupos articuladores dessas experiências: o Movimento dos Sem-Universidade MSU e a Educação e Cidadania para Negros e Carentes EDUCAFRO. Ao longo da trajetória dos movimentos sociais no Brasil, a partir da década de 1990, eles abrandam seu caráter contestatório, tornando-se mais propositivos e acompanhando a chamada globalização . O objetivo deste trabalho foi compreender comparativamente o MSU e a EDUCAFRO, investigando as diferenças na estratégia e filosofia política de ambos para democratização do acesso ao ensino superior. A trajetória da pesquisa parte do histórico dos movimentos sociais no Brasil, da educação popular nesse contexto, seguido do surgimento e um breve histórico dos prévestibulares populares no País, tendo como foco do estudo o MSU e a Educafro, a partir de uma análise comparada. A metodologia utilizada para compreender esses núcleos foi uma revisão de literatura, entrevistas semiestruturadas com membros do MSU-Minas e da EDUCAFRO-Minas e, por fim, um grupo focal com a presença de ambos. Detectamos que as principais convergências entre as experiências se situam no âmbito da sua tática e funcionamento de atuação. As tensões residem na atuação política desses e na compreensão da educação pública. As articulações se dão na atuação direta, ou seja, nas lutas concretas e pautas unificadoras como: Cotas, ProUni, isenção da taxa de inscrição no vestibular. Há momentos de união entre as partes analisadas, porém evidencia-se que a noção de educação pública é diferenciada entre MSU e EDUCAFRO.
