Resumo: Low impact development (LID) practices for urban drainage act to reduce the volume of surface runoff and amortize the flow discharged in conventional drainage systems. Despite the great environmental potential, the design of LID solutions still has gaps to be explored, especially when considering that the traditional way of sizing sources drainage systems takes into account only the intensity of the rain design. This paper presents an analysis of the influence of different design parameters on the sizing and performance behavior of the filling and emptying phases of dry-wells, aiming to define more unfavorable design situations. For this propose, different scenarios were studied considering different soil infiltration rates and project rainfall. It was observed that, for soils with infiltration rates below 1.10-5 m³/m²/s, the largest dry-well volume occurs when there is a long-term precipitation whereas for infiltration rates greater than 1.10-3 m³/m²/s, the largest volume results from a short duration and high intensity precipitation. Changing the diameter of the dry-well by 20% did not affect the emptying time considerably, however, the depth of the dry-well suffered changes of up to 43%.
