Os dados são provenientes de nove escolas de línguas do Distrito Federal de três tipos de gestão em três cidades de níveis diferentes de renda. A pesquisa consiste em sessenta e seis questionários de catorze perguntas e observação participante. Os resultados do trabalho de campo indicam que quanto mais as empresas descentralizam os processos decisórios e as competências políticas da instituição entre seus trabalhadores maior é o comprometimento deles com a própria instituição, o que permite inferir que quanto mais horizontal for uma instituição/organização mais comprometida será a sua força de trabalho. ____________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThe objective of this research is to relate democracy in management and work environment with commitment. Data are from nine language schools in the Federal District of three types of management in three cities of different levels of income. The survey consists of sixty-six questionnaires fourteen questions and participant observation.
