Dissertação (Mestrado em Ciência Animal)—Universidade Brasília, Brasília, 2012.http://repositorio.unb.br/handle/10482/10926Dissertação (mestrado)—Universidade Brasília, Faculdade de Agronomia e Medicina Veterinária, 2012.O objetivo do trabalho foi mensurar o desempenho, consumo alimentar, a eficiência econômica e alimentar e as características quantitativas das carcaças de bovinos inteiros, com peso vivo inicial de 364 kg e idade média de 23 meses, pertencentes a dois grupos genéticos Nelore (NEL) e F1 Nelore x Brahman (NBR) sob três regimes alimentares em confinamento de alto concentrado. O experimento foi realizado em um delineamento inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial 2x3 com sete repetições. As dietas foram SIL (25:75 de volumoso:concentrado na MS), GRN (15% concentrado 85% milho inteiro), PEL (100% concentrado). O cruzamento NBR apresentou resultados semelhantes aos da raça NEL (P>0,05), com a exceção (P<0,05) da AOL e PVI. As dietas resultaram em desempenhos semelhantes quando às ingestões de alimento, rendimentos de carcaça e AOL (P>0,05), porém a dieta PEL obteve EF, GMD, PVF, GT e EG menores (P<0,05) quando comparada com as outras dietas. O cruzamento NBR teve resultados semelhantes ao NEL quanto à viabilidade econômica no confinamento demonstrando que este cruzamento é viável. Dentre as três dietas, a dieta PEL, apesar de não ser a dieta de maior custo em R$/kg, obteve o pior desempenho econômico. Todas as dietas apresentaram resultado positivo, ou seja, foram capazes de pagar os custos e remunerar o produtor. _________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACTThe beef cattle in Brazil should seek and apply technologies that produce younger animals improving the meat quality and a lower production costs of a kilogram of meat. The use of diets of quality, high efficiency combined with the use of technology of crosses animals are plausible and easy to implement. The objective of this study was to measure the performance, feed intake, feed efficiency and economic and quantitative characteristics of the carcasses of bulls, with initial weight of 364 kg and average age of 23 months, composing two genetic groups of Nellore (NEL) and F1 Nellore x Brahman (NBR) treated with three diets of high concentrate under feedlot. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design in a 2x3 factorial with seven replicates. Diets were SIL (25:75 forage: concentrate in DM), GRN (15% concentrate 85% whole corn), PEL (100% concentrate). The crossing NBR showed similar results to breed NEL (P> 0.05), with the exception (P <0.05) ILW and REA. Diets resulted in similar performances of the food intake, carcass results and REA (P> 0.05), but the diet PEL obtained lower FE, ADG, FLW, TG and FT (P <0.05) compared with the other diets. The NBR animals had similar results to NEL in the economic viability of the feedlot showing that this intersection is feasible. Among the three diets, the PEL, although not the diet with the highest cost in US$ / kg, had the worst economic performance.
