Resumo: The present study evaluated the influence of different volumes of water in the substrate and temperatures The present study evaluated the influence of different volumes of water in the substrate and temperatures on the germination and vigor of Angico (Anadenanthera macrocarpa) seeds. Seed germination depends on abiotic factors, with humidity and temperature being the main ones, whose influence, in extreme conditions, can damage the seeds. The experime nt was conducted at the Seed Analysis Laboratory, Department of Technology and Social Sciences, State University of Bahia-(DTCS/UNEB), Campus III, from March to June 2019. Seeds of Anadenanthera macrocarpa were used donated by NEMA/Univasf, Petrolina-PE. The treatments consisted of water volumes equivalent to 1.5; 2.0; 2.5 and 3.0 times the dry mass of the substrate and constant temperatures of 25°, 30° and 35°C. There was no rewetting of substrates during the course of the experiment. The effect of treat ments (moisture and temperature) on the germination performance of seeds was evaluated using the following variables: Germination (G%), Normal Seedlings (PN), Abnormal Seedlings (PA), Fresh Root Mass (MR), Fresh Mass of Aerial Part (MFPA). The design used was randomized, with four replications with 50 seeds each. Data were statistically evaluated by analysis of variance, testing means by Tukey's Test and by Regression, for quantitative factors, respectively. The program used was SISVAR, v. 4.3, developed by UFLA. Wetting the substrate with an amount of water in the substrate equivalent to 1.5; 2.0 and 2.5 (mL.g-1 of paper) associated with temperatures of 25 and 30°C is indicated for germination of seeds of Ananhenathera macrocarpa.
