Resumo: Este artigo aborda o patrimônio cultural ferroviário de Barra do Piraí, município localizado no interior do estado do Rio de Janeiro. São apresentados dados sobre sua constituição, historicidade e sobre sua preservação no período compreendido entre os anos 2000 e 2020. A abordagem delimita-se no distrito sede do município, e constitui-se como uma investigação da realidade deste patrimônio nos últimos vinte anos, identificando-o como permanências ferroviárias. A pesquisa possui abordagem qualitativa e consiste no registro e descrição de tais permanências a partir de bibliografia, pesquisa documental e observação in loco.
