Resumo: Energy efficiency has become an increasingly discussed topic in society and the scientific community. However, the studies that relate this theme to historic buildings are still few compared to contemporary buildings. However, the potential for reducing energy consumption for historic buildings is considerable and can assist in global energy efficiency goals. This research aimed to identify the main deficiencies of the RTQ-C (2010) and the modifications of the proposed text INI-C (2018) related to the labelling of the building envelope and to evaluate the efficiency level of a historic building by the prescriptive method of RTQ-C and the simulation model proposed in INI-C. To this end, the methodology was carried out in five stages: Survey of technical data; Labeling of the envelope by RTQ-C; Modeling and simulation; Calibration; Labeling of the envelope by INI-C. The results showed that the prescriptive method of RTQ-C has limitations, as it does not allow the characterization of fundamental building data, such as solar orientation. The INI-C simulation method showed improvements over the previous one, such as removing existing prerequisites in RTQ-C that generated a trend in labelling. However, it has not proved to be ideal for evaluating historic buildings because the construction methods proposed for the reference model, which bases the assessment, are far from the reality of historic buildings.
