Resumo: The attitudes and conception toward mathematics present by teachers pre-school. The main objective of research study was the existence and the type of attitude (positive or negative) towards mathematics is presented by teachers envolved in pre school education. It was also a goal of this study to relate conceptions about math presented by teachers with positive and negative attitudes. The research was conducted in two phases. First phase subjects 402 teachers, they answered a questionnare and scale of attitude toward mathematics. In the second phase, six teachers were selected from within the group and were interviewed. The results obtained showed that this group of teachers had whose mean was 60.5 more positive attitudes with regard to mathematics. Interview analysis was able to show the attitudes (positive or negative) were not determining factors to differentiate the conceptions interviewed teachers had the teaching of mathematics in pre-school.

E analisar, também, se professores com atitudes positivas em relação à Matemática possuem concepções sobre o ensino da Matemática diferentes daqueles com atitudes negativas. O estudo foi realizado em duas fases. Participaram da primeira fase 402 professores de educação infantil da rede municipal de Bauru, SP, e os instrumentos usados foram um questionário e uma escala da atitudes em relação à Matemática, do tipo Likert. Na segunda fase do estudo, foram entrevistados seis professores, selecionados dentro do grupo. Os resultados obtidos mostraram que esse grupo de professores possui atitudes mais positivas em relação à Matemática e que atitudes (positivas e negativas) não foram determinantes para diferenciar as concepções que os professores entrevistados possuem sobre o ensino da Matemática na educação infantil.
