Resumo: This text discusses popular music as a vector of the transformation of sensibilities throughout the 1960s. It argues that the aesthetic, thematic, and behavioral renewal observed there questioned the Brazilian political culture of strong authoritarian nature. It uses audiovisual records from festivals, documentaries that explore the culture of that decade, and books that address the trajectories of artists who faced and suffered the pressures of the dictatorial system. Amid glamor and protest, many young singers, songwriters, and performers shook the established forms of musical art in Brazil, whether because of the vigor of their lyrics, the boldness of their compositions, or the force of their transgressive behavior, which would enable the critique of the national political culture.

Defiende que la renovación estética, temática y comportamental allí observada colocaba en jaque la cultura política brasileña de fuerte cariz autoritario. Se vale de registros audiovisuales de los festivales, documentales que exploran la cultura de aquella década y de libros que tratan de las trayectorias de artistas que enfrentaron y sufrieron las presiones del sistema dictatorial. Entre éxtasis y protesta, muchos jóvenes artistas cantores, compositores e intérpretes estremecieron las formas consagradas del arte musical en Brasil, sea por el vigor de sus letras, por la osadía de sus composiciones o por la fuerza de su comportamiento transgresor, que posibilitaría la crítica a la cultura política nacional.O texto discute a música popular como vetor da transformação das sensibilidades ao longo da década de 1960.
