Resumo: In Pará state, were registered at least 11 crabs species of Portunidae. In Taperaçu estuary was found Callinectes danae (Smith, 1969) and Callinectes bocourti (A. Milne Edwards, 1879), locally called ‘blue crab’ and ‘red crab’. To this study bimonthly samples was done between march/2010 until july/2011 with 4 gillnets and 1 trawl net. In laboratory specimens were measured, weight and sex was recognized and for data analysis were used StatSoft 7.0 and Microsoft Excel 2010. Were captured 86 individuals of C. bocourti and C. danae, being 39 females (57,35%) and 29 males of C. bocourti (42,65%), 6 females (33,33%) and 12 males (66,67%) of C. danae. Biomass values of grouped species showed high statistical significance in samples months (F=6.8; p0.01), as classes of biomass tested between months (F=6.6; p0.01) and between species (F=9.4; p0.01). Males in both species showed most significant growth than females, however females reach large sizes. Sex ratio not changed between 11 size classes, and 1:1 hypothesis was accepted. C. bocourti showed more abundance than C. danae being more evident in rainy period with low salinity. Keywords: Ecosystems; crabs; Callinectes bocourti; Callinectes danae.
