Resumo: | Irlbachia is a genus native from Brazil, with four species ocurring on the country, with Irlbachia nemorosa being the only endemic species. Aspects on leaf anatomy of the genus are still unknown. The present study describes aspects of morphological and anatomical structure of the leaf of individuals of Irlbachia nemorosa. The petiole and the midrib vascular bundles are bicolateral, with the occurrence of sclereids in the cortex. The mesophyll is dorsiventral, with compact palisade and spongy parenchyma. Stomata are anomocytic occurring in the epidermal line. The species has characters that allow its successful colonization of open habitats, although it is a herb it shows xeromorphic aspects conferring resistance to the plant.Key words: leaf anatomy; leaf morphology; endemism; Amazon. |

Universidade Federal do AmapáFundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado do Amazonas - FAPEAMCorrea, Marcos MeloMelo, Gabriel Augusto Martins deKrahl, Amauri HerbertAraújo, Maria Gracimar Pacheco de2014-08-02info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionArtigo Avaliado pelos Paresapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/article/view/65910.18561/2179-5746/biotaamazonia.v4n2p5-8Biota Amazônia (Biote Amazonie, Biota Amazonia, Amazonian Biota); v. 4, n. 2 (2014); 5-82179-5746reponame:Biota Amazôniainstname:Universidade Federal do Amapá (UNIFAP)instacron:UNIFAPporhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/article/view/659/v4n2p5-8.pdfhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/article/downloadSuppFile/659/72https://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/article/downloadSuppFile/659/73https://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/article/downloadSuppFile/659/74Amazôniafolhas, órgãos vegetativosDireitos autorais 2014 Biota Amazônia (Biote Amazonie, Biota Amazonia, Amazonian Biota)http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2016-04-13T17:58:54Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/659Revistahttp://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biotaONGhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/oai||juliosa@unifap.br2179-57462179-5746opendoar:2016-04-13T17:58:54Biota Amazônia - Universidade Federal do Amapá (UNIFAP)false |
