Resumo: The Amazon forest has suffered the loss of areas facing the advance of deforestation linked to development policies in the region. Thus, the study aimed to study the floristic composition and diversity of forest remnants in the catchment area of the reservoir of the plant hydroelectric of Tucuruí. Had been installed four parcels of 100 m x 100 m (1 ha), divided in 25 sub-parcels of 20 m x 20 m, in each sub-parcel, the individuals with diameter the height of the chest ≥ 10 cm had been registered all the diversity were calculated through the Index Shannon and Equability of Pielou. The floristic similarity was esteem through the indices of Jaccard and Sorensen. For the four inventoried paecels it was found a total of 1.720 individuals, distributed in 49 families, 156 sorts and 305 species. The number of families and species between the samplings varied of 32 the 43 and 76 the 156, respectively. It enters the five more representative families in number of Fabaceae species was present in all, Mimosaceae was enters most representative in three and Sapotaceae, Chrysobalanaceae and Lecythidaceae had been most representative only in sampling III. Sampling III presented the biggest value of diversity (4,40) and sampling I the minor (3,55). It enters the samplings the biggest values of similarity had been registered for samplings I and II and the minors for I and III. The results showed that the remaining studied showed differences regarding the number of families and species, although these are inserted in the same floristic matrix. Keywords: floristic; similarity; diversity.

A parcela III apresentou o maior valor de diversidade (4,40) e parcela I o menor (3,55).
