Resumo: The aim of this research was to evaluate different feeding frequencies and times on the performance and economic viability of Betta splendens males. Twenty-four Betta splendens males, with initial average weight of 0.43 g, were housed individually in 1.5 L aquaria with static water. The experimental design was completely randomized with four treatments, different feeding frequencies and times (T1 = feeding at 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., 8:00 a.m., 12:30 a.m. and 5 a.m., and T4 = 8:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.) and six replicates. Feeding consisted of providing commercial feed containing 40% crude protein. The experimental period was 45 days. The different feeding frequencies did not affect survival. However, the feeding management offered twice a day, at 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. was the one that presented the best performance results and with the use of two daily rations, the best economic viability was obtained. Keywords: commercial diet; fish nutrition; feeding management; ornamental fish.

Universidade Federal do AmapáFAPEALSantos, Elton LimaSilva, Lineker Luna Alves daSoares, Emerson CarlosOliveira, Wallace Denisson Santos deLima, Misleni Ricarte deOliveira, Jerusa Maria deSantos, Ewerton Lima2019-09-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionArtigo Avaliado pelos Paresapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/article/view/402710.18561/2179-5746/biotaamazonia.v9n3p30-34Biota Amazônia (Biote Amazonie, Biota Amazonia, Amazonian Biota); v. 9, n. 3 (2019); 30-342179-5746reponame:Biota Amazôniainstname:Universidade Federal do Amapá (UNIFAP)instacron:UNIFAPporhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/article/view/4027/v9n3p30-34.pdfBrasilDireitos autorais 2019 Biota Amazônia (Biote Amazonie, Biota Amazonia, Amazonian Biota)http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2019-12-26T13:28:04Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/4027Revistahttp://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biotaONGhttps://periodicos.unifap.br/index.php/biota/oai||juliosa@unifap.br2179-57462179-5746opendoar:2019-12-26T13:28:04Biota Amazônia - Universidade Federal do Amapá (UNIFAP)false
