Civil Engineering: Perceptions and perspectives of the first class of students of a College in the interior of of Rio Grande do Sul

Resumo: This research aimed to analyze the profile of students entering the first class of the Civil Engineering Course, from a Private College in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The case study has a qualitative approach. The research instrument was a questionnaire containing twelve questions, based on the theoretical and methodological assumptions of Gil (1991), applied with ten subjects, being students of the present author in the discipline of Elementary Calculus for Engineering. For data analysis, Bardin (2016) was used, which helped the organization of the collection obtained. Through the research, it was possible to see its importance, at this initial moment, with the purpose of getting to know the students and also, the essential continuity of the research throughout the semesters, as a way to accompany the students in their trajectory and to know the new ones.

El estudio de caso tiene un enfoque cualitativo. El instrumento de investigación fue un cuestionario que contenía doce preguntas, basado en los supuestos teóricos y metodológicos de Gil (1991), aplicado con diez asignaturas, siendo estudiantes del presente autor en la disciplina de Cálculo elemental para ingeniería. Para el análisis de datos, se utilizó Bardin (2016), lo que ayudó a la organización de la colección obtenida. A través de la investigación, fue posible ver su importancia, en este momento inicial, con el propósito de conocer a los estudiantes y también, la continuidad esencial de la investigación a lo largo de los semestres, como una forma de acompañar a los estudiantes en su trayectoria y conocer a los nuevos. Essa pesquisa teve o intento de analisar o perfil dos alunos ingressantes da primeira turma do Curso de Engenharia Civil, de uma Faculdade Privada no interior do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. O estudo de caso tem uma abordagem qualitativa. O instrumento de pesquisa foi um questionário contendo doze questões, alicerçados nos pressupostos teórico-metodológicos de Gil (1991), aplicado com dez sujeitos, sendo alunos da presente autora na disciplina de Cálculo Elementar para a Engenharia. Para a análise de dados, utilizou-se Bardin (2016), o qual auxiliou a organização da coleta obtida.
