Overview of the implementation of Emergency Remote Education in the Federal Network of Professional, Scientific and Technological Education of Minas Gerais

Resumo: | The pandemic caused by the new Coronavirus in 2020 imposed severe restrictions on the normal running of schools in different countries around the world, often making it impossible to carry out teaching activities in person. In view of this, educational institutions had to adapt in order to allow teaching to be offered at a distance. The term "Emergency Remote Education - ERE" was coined by the literature as the most appropriate to define the teaching model that is being offered during the pandemic. Given the above, this research aims to understand the current scenario of the implementation of the ERE in the Federal Institutes and the Federal Center for Technological Education - CEFET, which make up the Federal Network of Professional and Technological Education of Minas Gerais, Brazil. To this end, a bibliographic and documentary review on Emergency Remote Education in the context of the pandemic was carried out, highlighting the challenges to its implementation in the country in order to provide subsidies for the definition of criteria that guarantee the quality of this offer. Then, a survey of the regulations, documents and publications made available on the portal of the researched institutions was carried out to establish a comparison between them based on the criteria previously defined. The survey found that the evaluated institutions were able to incorporate most of the criteria in order to guarantee the quality of the ERE offer. However, differences were identified in the time they were implemented and in their incorporation into the regulations. |

Por lo tanto, las instituciones educativas tuvieron que adaptarse para permitir que la enseñanza se ofreciera a distancia. El término “Educación Remota de Emergencia - ERE” fue acuñado por la literatura como el más apropiado para definir el modelo de enseñanza que se está ofreciendo durante la pandemia. Dado lo anterior, esta investigación tiene como objetivo comprender el escenario actual de la implementación del ERE en los Institutos Federales y el Centro Federal de Educación Tecnológica - CEFET, que conforman la Red Federal de Educación Profesional y Tecnológica de Minas Gerais, Brasil. Para ello, se realizó una revisión bibliográfica y documental sobre Educación Remota de Emergencia en el contexto de la pandemia, destacando los desafíos para su implementación en el país con el fin de otorgar subsidios para la definición de criterios que garanticen la calidad de esta oferta. Luego, se realizó un relevamiento de la normativa, documentos y publicaciones puestos a disposición en el portal de las instituciones investigadas para establecer una comparación entre ellas en base a los criterios previamente definidos. La encuesta encontró que las instituciones evaluadas fueron capaces de incorporar la mayoría de los criterios para garantizar la calidad de la oferta de ERE. O termo “Ensino Remoto Emergencial- ERE” foi cunhado pela literatura como o mais apropriado para definir o modelo de ensino que está sendo ofertado durante a pandemia. Diante do exposto, esta pesquisa tem como objetivo compreender o panorama atual da implementação do ERE nos Institutos Federais e Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica - CEFET, que compõem a Rede Federal de Educação Profissional, Científica e Tecnológica de Minas Gerais, Brasil. Para tal, foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica e documental sobre o Ensino Remoto Emergencial no contexto da pandemia, com destaque para os desafios à sua implementação no país de modo a dar subsídios para a definição de critérios que garantam a qualidade desta oferta. Em seguida foi realizado um levantamento das normativas, documentos e publicações disponibilizados no portal das instituições pesquisadas para estabelecer um comparativo entre elas a partir dos critérios definidos previamente. A pesquisa constatou que as instituições avaliadas conseguiram incorporar a maior parte dos critérios de modo a garantir a qualidade da oferta do ERE.
