The study deals with Alzheimer's Disease (AD), a slowly evolving neurodegenerative disease that causes the progressive loss of neurons in certain regions of the brain, leading to a gradual decline in memory, reasoning, speech ability, among other brain functions. , providing information about its causes, symptoms, increase in the number of cases, the impact of the diagnosis on the family's life and what care can be provided by the nursing team to patients in a palliative state. For this, a quantitative and exploratory bibliographic research was carried out, where searches were carried out for documents, books, articles and other materials that could assist in the research of what had already been studied on the subject. There was a time limitation from 2005 to 2022 and materials in Portuguese. Through the study carried out, it became clear that there are several challenges for the nursing professional who works with Alzheimer's patients in a palliative state, and humanized and multidisciplinary care is of paramount importance.
