Resumo: | The hospital work environment is considered unhealthy, as it groups patients with various infectious and contagious diseases and enables many procedures that pose risks of accidents and illnesses for health workers. Given this context, this study aimed to know the knowledge of health professionals about occupational accidents in the workplace. For this, a descriptive, exploratory study with a quantitative approach was carried out. The research was carried out at the General Hospital of the Municipality of Bacabal-MA. A questionnaire containing 19 questions was applied to health professionals who work at the General Hospital of the Municipality of Bacabal-MA, data were submitted to simple percentages. 44 professionals participated, being 33 nursing technicians, 1 pharmacist, 1 social worker and 9 nurses, of which 75% were female, the age among the research participants ranged from 23 to 58 years. The present study showed that most research participants had worked at the institution for less than 10 years, 88.6% said yes, they know what work accidents are, 6.8% know about partial formalities, 38.32% considered work accident that with sharp materials, 45.45% said they had suffered some type of work accident. Therefore, it is noteworthy that training in worker health about the risks, prevention and notification of these injuries are capable of favoring a considerable reduction in the rates of occupational accidents. |

En este contexto, este estudio tuvo como objetivo conocer el conocimiento de los profesionales de la salud sobre los accidentes laborales en el lugar de trabajo. Para ello se realizó un estudio exploratorio descriptivo con enfoque cuantitativo. La investigación se realizó en el Hospital General del Municipio de Bacabal-MA. Se aplicó un cuestionario de 19 preguntas a los profesionales de la salud que laboran en el Hospital General del Municipio de Bacabal-MA, los datos se presentaron en porcentajes simples. Participaron 44 profesionales, 33 técnicos de enfermería, 1 farmacéutico, 1 asistente social y 9 enfermeras, 75% de las cuales eran mujeres, la edad entre los participantes de la investigación osciló entre 23 y 58 años. El presente estudio mostró que la mayoría de los participantes de la investigación han trabajado en la institución por menos de 10 años, 88,6% dijo que sí, saben qué son los accidentes de trabajo, 6,8% conocen de trámites parciales, 38,32% consideraron accidente de trabajo que con materiales cortantes, 45,45% Dijo que habían sufrido algún tipo de accidente laboral. Por tanto, es de destacar que la formación en salud de los trabajadores sobre los riesgos, prevención y notificación de estas lesiones son capaces de favorecer una reducción considerable de las tasas de accidentes laborales.O ambiente de trabalho hospitalar é considerado insalubre, por agrupar pacientes portadores de diversas enfermidades infectocontagiosas e viabilizar muitos procedimentos que oferecem riscos de acidentes e doenças para os trabalhadores da saúde. Para isso realizou-se um estudo do tipo descritivo, exploratório de abordagem quantitativa. A pesquisa foi realizada no Hospital Geral do Município de Bacabal-MA. Foi aplicado um questionário contendo 19 questões a profissionais da saúde que trabalham no Hospital Geral do Município de Bacabal-MA, os dados foram submetidos à porcentagem simples. Participaram 44 profissionais, sendo 33 técnicos de enfermagem, 1 farmacêutico, 1 assistente social e 9 enfermeiros, desses 75% pertenciam ao sexo feminino, a idade entre os participantes da pesquisa variou de 23 a 58 anos. O presente estudo mostrou que a maioria dos participantes da pesquisa trabalhava na instituição a menos de 10 anos, 88,6% afirmaram que sim, sabem o que são acidentes de trabalho, 6,8% conhecem de formal parcial, 38,32% consideraram acidente de trabalho aquele com materiais perfurocortantes, 45,45% afirmaram ter sofrido algum tipo de acidente de trabalho.
