Resumo: The objective of this study was studied relative condition factor and hematological parameters of males and females of pacu Piaractus mesopotamicus were after the process of hormonal induction and spawning. Field research was carried out, with quantitative and qualitative measures in which thirty healthy fish were randomly collected, 14 females and 16 males. A blood collection was then carried out to analyze the following parameters: hematocrit, total plasma protein, number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin, hematimetric indices, mean corpuscular volume (MCV) and mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCHC) concentration. Total and differential leukocyte and thrombocyte count and plasma glucose were also determined. The condition factor was similar for both sexes, with values close to 1. The total plasma protein and the number of circulating neutrophils were higher in females (P<0.05). The other parameters remained unchanged. These differences are an adaptation response to management. All values were close to those previously reported for pacu, P. mesopotamicus, under conditions of hygiene in the intensive farming system, indicating that the process of induction and spawning does not damage the well-being of the fish to the point of triggering changes in the factor of hematological condition and parameters.

Research, Society and Development2020-04-04info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/333810.33448/rsd-v9i5.3338Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 No. 5; e181953338Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 Núm. 5; e181953338Research, Society and Development; v. 9 n. 5; e1819533382525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/3338/4716Copyright (c) 2020 Arlene Sobrinho Ventura, Sheila Nogueira de Oliveira, Joaquim Azambuja Duarte Junior, Tuany Trindade Silva, Andrea Maria de Araújo Gabrielinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessVentura, Arlene SobrinhoOliveira, Sheila Nogueira deDuarte Junior, Joaquim AzambujaSilva, Tuanny TrindadeGabriel, Andrea Maria de Araújo2020-08-20T18:06:36Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/3338Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:27:34.187393Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
