Resumo: This study aimed to describe the feelings of women with breast cancer; identify ways of coping used by these women; and to point out the strategies that the multidisciplinary team of an oncology center uses to assist these patients. To this end, a descriptive, exploratory study with a qualitative approach was carried out, with 22 women diagnosed with breast cancer and 16 professionals from the oncology sector of a General Hospital who answered a socio-demographic questionnaire and semi-structured interview. It was noticed that the highest incidence rate of breast cancer is among women aged 50 to 69 years, married and with low education, and the trajectory of breast cancer treatment is marked by uncertainties regarding the cure, regarding multiprofessional team highlighted the importance of each professional in alleviating suffering. In view of the analysis, it was possible to argue that, seen by most women as something mutilating and destructive and that totally undermine their self-esteem, breast cancer deserves collective attention to cope with it, where each professional plays his part in alleviating suffering. Given the above, it was possible to conclude that family participation, religion, group therapies, psychological work, welcoming, explanation of treatment, correct prescription by the team and even simple gestures such as listening to the patient, are decisive to assist women in coping with the disease and obtaining a better biopsychosocial adaptation.

Con este fin, se realizó un estudio exploratorio descriptivo con un enfoque cualitativo, con 22 mujeres diagnosticadas con cáncer de mama y 16 profesionales del sector de oncología de un Hospital General que respondieron un cuestionario sociodemográfico y una entrevista semiestructurada. Se observó que la tasa de incidencia más alta de cáncer de seno es entre mujeres de 50 a 69 años, casadas y con baja educación, y la trayectoria del tratamiento del cáncer de seno está marcada por las incertidumbres con respecto a la cura, con respecto a El equipo multiprofesional destacó la importancia de cada profesional para aliviar el sufrimiento. En vista del análisis, fue posible argumentar que, visto por la mayoría de las mujeres como algo mutilante y destructivo y que socava totalmente su autoestima, el cáncer de seno merece atención colectiva para enfrentarlo, donde cada profesional juega su parte para aliviar el sufrimiento. Dado lo anterior, fue posible concluir que la participación familiar, la religión, las terapias grupales, el trabajo psicológico, la bienvenida, la explicación del tratamiento, la prescripción correcta por parte del equipo e incluso gestos simples como escuchar al paciente, son decisivos para ayudar mujeres para hacer frente a la enfermedad y obtener una mejor adaptación biopsicosocial.Este estudo teve como objetivo descrever os sentimentos de mulheres com câncer de mama; identificar formas de enfrentamento utilizadas por estas mulheres; e apontar as estratégias que a equipe multiprofissional de um centro oncológico utiliza para auxiliar estas pacientes. Para tal, foi realizado um estudo descritivo, exploratório de abordagem qualitativa, com 22 mulheres com diagnóstico de câncer de mama e 16 profissionais do setor oncológico de um Hospital Geral que responderam questionário sócio demográfico e entrevista semiestruturada. Percebeu-se que a maior taxa de incidência do câncer de mama está entre as mulheres na faixa etária dos 50 a 69 anos, casadas e com baixa escolaridade, sendo a trajetória do tratamento do câncer de mama marcada por incertezas quanto à cura, quanto a equipe multiprofissional destacou-se a importância de cada profissional na amenização do sofrimento. Diante da análise foi possível discutir que encarada pela maioria das mulheres como algo mutilante e desestruturador e que abalam totalmente a sua autoestima o câncer de mama merece atenção coletiva para o seu enfrentamento, onde cada profissional desempenha o seu papel amenizando o sofrimento. Ante ao exposto, foi possível concluir que, a participação da família, a religião, as terapias de grupo, o trabalho psicológico, acolhimento, explicação do tratamento, prescrição correta da equipe e até mesmo gestos simples como escutar o paciente, são decisivos para auxiliar as mulheres no enfrentamento da doença e a obterem uma melhor adaptação biopsicossocial.
