Resumo: | Objective: This theoretical reflection aims to evidence the clinical nursing care and safety of the patient in the administration of medication. Method: Theoretical-reflexive study, from readings and debates pertinent to the discipline Fundamentals and Practices of Clinical Care of Nursing and Health, Master's level, of the State University of Ceará. Results and discussion: The text was organized in two thematic axes: Clinical nursing care and patient safety and nursing care in the safe administration of drugs. Final Considerations: It is necessary to share the care with the family and patient, because it favors interpersonal relationships, improves quality management, safety promotion, error prevention and quality of the health care process. |

Resultados y discusión: El texto se organizó en dos ejes temáticos: Cuidados de enfermería clínica y seguridad del paciente y cuidados de enfermería en la administración segura de medicamentos. Consideraciones finales: Es necesario compartir la atención con la familia y el paciente, porque favorece las relaciones interpersonales, mejora la gestión de la calidad, la promoción de la seguridad, la prevención de errores y la calidad del proceso de atención sanitaria.Objetivo: Esta reflexão teórica tem como objetivo evidenciar o cuidado clínico de enfermagem e segurança do paciente na administração de medicamentos. Método: Estudo teórico-reflexivo, proveniente de leituras e debates pertinentes à disciplina Fundamentos e Práticas do Cuidado Clínico de Enfermagem e Saúde, nível Mestrado, da Universidade Estadual do Ceará. Resultados e discussão: O texto foi organizado em dois eixos temáticos: Cuidado clínico de enfermagem e segurança do paciente e o cuidado de enfermagem na administração segura de medicamentos.
