Historical knowledge and the search for truth: a reading of subjectivity and objectivity in the duality between subject and object

Resumo: The present article presents the systematization of theoretical reflections about the debate of neutrality in the human sciences. From the presentation of the conception of scientific neutrality defended by the positivist perspective, a reflection is made on the relation between researcher and object of historical research and its imbrications to the present day. The focus is on the subjective factor and its decisive contribution to research in human science. Thus, the great epistemological richness contained in subjectivity is demonstrated. The methodology used was a bibliographical study, made from researches in classic works of historical science.

A partir de la presentación de la concepción de neutralidad científica defendida por la perspectiva positivista, se hace una reflexión sobre la relación entre investigador y objeto de investigación histórica y sus imbricaciones hasta los días actuales. El foco recae sobre el factor subjetivo y su contribución decisiva a la investigación en la ciencia humana. Así, se demuestra la gran riqueza epistemológica contenida en la subjetividad. La metodología utilizada fue un estudio bibliográfico, hecho a partir de investigaciones en obras clásicas de la ciencia histórica.O presente artigo apresenta a sistematização de reflexões teóricas acerca do debate da neutralidade nas ciências humanas. A partir da apresentação da concepção de neutralidade científica defendida pela perspectiva positivista, faz-se uma reflexão sobre a relação entre pesquisador e objeto de pesquisa histórica e suas imbricações até os dias atuais. O foco recai sobre o fator subjetivo e sua contribuição decisiva para a pesquisa na ciência humana. Assim, é demonstrada a grande riqueza epistemológica contida na subjetividade. A metodologia utilizada foi um estudo bibliográfico, feito a partir de pesquisas em obras clássicas da ciência histórica.
