Resumo: | This work aims to analyze in silico the antiprotozoal potential of Ascaridol. Using the free software PASS online® to evaluate the biological potential of the Ascaridol molecule, where this software provided the values of (Pa) probability of being active and (Pi) probability of being inactive of the compound in different pharmacological characteristics. Ascaridol showed a high probability of being active for the antiprotozoan (Pa= 0,790), Coccidial antiprotozoan (Pa= 0,476) and Leishimania antiprotozoan (Pa= 0,394). Such results corroborate with other studies proving that this compound present in several medicinal plants has great potential as an antiprotozoal agent, being a promising herbal agent. |

Usando el software gratuito PASS online® para evaluar el potencial biológico de la molécula de Ascaridol, donde este software proporcionó los valores de (Pa) probabilidad de estar activo y (Pi) probabilidad de estar inactivo del compuesto en diferentes características farmacológicas. El ascaridol mostró una alta probabilidad de ser activo para el antiprotozoo (Pa= 0,790), el antiprotozoo coccidial (Pa= 0,476) y el antiprotozoo Leishimania (Pa= 0,394). Tales resultados corroboran con otros estudios que prueban que este compuesto presente en varias plantas medicinales tiene un gran potencial como agente antiprotozoario, siendo un agente herbal prometedor.Este trabalho tem como objetivo, analisar in silico o potencial antiprotozoário do Ascaridol. Utilizando o software gratuito PASS online® para avaliar o potencial biológico da molécula de Ascaridol, onde este software forneceu os valores de (Pa) probababilidade de ser ativo e (Pi) probabilidade de ser inativo do composto em diferentes características farmacológicas. O Ascaridol apresentou uma elevada probabilidade de ser ativo para as propriedades antiprotozoário (PA= 0,790), antiprotozoário Coccidial (PA= 0,476) e antiprotozoário Leishimania (PA= 0,394).
